چکیده

The retroaortic left renal vein (RLRV) is a rare vascular variant with typical position of the between abdominal aorta and vertebral column. Despite usually asymptomatic, RLRV might be associated posterior nutcracker syndrome, other pathologies may cause major surgical complications. An existing but not expected hamper aortic dissection to life threatening bleeding. A case was observed during routine formalin fixed 62-year-old female cadaver. kidney found ectopic located lower than usual level L1 L4 vertebra. formed in hilum at L2/L3 intervertebral disc, then passed obliquely downwards behind join inferior vena cava upper border length 7.5 cm. main tributaries were suprarenal ovarian veins. Measuring diameters showed slight dilation its origin. Based on literature review, variation reported here can classified as Type II – draining normal cava. extended classification scheme variations presented well an optional typological scheme.

The Clinical Significance of a Retroaortic Left Renal Vein

PURPOSE A retroaortic left renal vein (RLRV) is located between the aorta and the vertebra and drains into the inferior vena cava. Urological symptoms can be caused by increased pressure in the renal vein. To evaluate the clinical importance of RLRV, we reviewed patients' medical records and radiologic findings. MATERIALS AND METHODS Nine patients who were studied with multidetector computed ...

A retroaortic left renal vein associated with a partially bifid left ureter - case report

During routine dissection of the retroperitoneal region in our Department, we observed rare variation as a retro-aortic left renal vein associated with a partially bifid left ureter in a 56 year old female. The left renal vein, after receiving its tributaries, the left ovarian and the left suprarenal veins, acquired an oblique course to the level of the intervertebral disc between L3-L4, and th...

Retroaortic Left Renal Vein in a Case of Left Adrenal Adenoma: Radiological Findings

It is important to diagnose retroaortic left renal vein (RLRV) before a probable retroperitoneal surgery in a case of a suspicious adrenal mass. Our purpose is to present the ultrasonography (US), computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings in a case of left adrenal adenoma with a coincidental RLRV and to discuss the clinical importance of their imaging. Abdominal an...

Case Report: Circumaortic Left Renal Vein

Awareness of the variation and renal vascular abnormality at retroperitoneal space surgeries such as kidney surgery and transplantation is very important and necessary. Complexity in the veins development of the kidney area of fetus leads to a series of changes in the production of these veins, including the extra kidney vein, and the posterior aorta vein. In this case report, we present a case...
